On Mother's Day 2025, CAVIWO travelled to Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, to celebrate with the mothers and grandmothers of the community. A day of laughter, shared meals, stories, and deep connection across generations.

What an incredible day! On May 11th, the CAVIWO team had the distinct honor of spending Mother's Day with the amazing mothers, grandmothers, and families of the Rankin Inlet community. The energy in the room was nothing short of magical, and we are still buzzing from the warmth and welcome we received.

Our mission at CAVIWO has always been to empower and uplift women, but the women of Rankin Inlet uplifted us. The day was filled with laughter, games, stories, and a deep sense of connection. It was beautiful to see generations coming together, from the elders who hold the wisdom of the community to the new mothers just starting their journeys.

The Feast: We shared a wonderful meal together. There is something special about breaking bread that brings people closer. Shared Stories: Listening to the experiences of women in the North was humbling. Your resilience and dedication to your families are truly inspiring.

Thank you, Rankin Inlet! To everyone who came out to the Catholic church, to our member Pamela and the local organizers who helped us coordinate, and to the families who opened their hearts to us, qujannamiik (thank you). You made this Mother's Day one for the history books. We are already looking forward to the next time we can gather.
