WORKSHOP ALERT – A Conversation Every Woman Needs

Leadership & Capacity Building 30 April, 2026 By CAVIWO Leadership Team 3 min read

What happens to your loved one when you are no longer here? Join CAVIWO for a powerful virtual workshop with Dr. Judith Foyabo, DNP, FNP-C on long-term care planning for caregivers of children with special needs.

What happens to your loved one when you are no longer here? It is a question many mothers, especially those caring for children with special needs, carry quietly in their hearts. It is not a question of fear alone. It is a question of love, of responsibility, of the fierce desire to ensure that the people who depend on you will be cared for long after your hands can no longer hold them. For too many women, that question stays unanswered, and the silence around it becomes a weight they carry alone, through every appointment, every sleepless night, and every season of worry.

On Thursday, April 30, 2026, Canada Virtuous Women (CAVIWO) will host a powerful and eye-opening virtual workshop designed to break that silence. The session, titled The Special Needs Caregiver, will be led by Dr. Judith Foyabo, DNP, FNP-C, a healthcare professional with deep expertise in family nursing and long-term care planning. Dr. Foyabo brings both clinical knowledge and a genuine understanding of the emotional terrain that caregivers navigate every day, and she will guide participants through the conversations too many families postpone until a crisis forces them.

This workshop is designed for mothers of children with special needs, women who serve as caregivers for family members, and anyone who wants to plan wisely for their family's future. If you have ever wondered who will step in when you cannot, how decisions will be made, or whether your loved one will be safe and supported, this conversation is for you. The goal is not to replace professional legal or financial advice but to give you the clarity and confidence to begin asking the right questions and seeking the right support, before urgency makes the answers harder to find.

Participants will gain practical guidance on long-term care planning, insight into protecting their loved ones, and the confidence to make informed decisions for the future. Dr. Foyabo will walk through the key considerations that every caregiver should understand, from establishing care plans and identifying trusted advocates to navigating the systems and resources available in Ottawa and across Ontario. The session is grounded in real life, not abstract theory, because the women who need this information are already living the reality it addresses, and they deserve guidance that meets them there.

The workshop will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM ET, live on Zoom. The link will be provided upon request. There is no cost to attend, but registration is encouraged so that we can prepare materials and ensure every participant has what they need to take full advantage of the session. Whether you are at the beginning of your caregiving journey or years into it, there is something here for you.

Planning for the future of a loved one with special needs is one of the most important acts of love a caregiver can undertake. It is also one of the most overlooked, pushed aside by the daily demands that leave little room for the conversations that matter most. This workshop exists because CAVIWO believes every woman deserves the peace of mind that comes from knowing she has done everything in her power to protect the people she loves. Join us for a conversation every woman needs, and leave with answers, clarity, and the confidence to act.
